Sexy Scented Massage Candle
Reviewed: June 21, 2013 by Scorpius12, a Straight Married Female
Once again - thank you LH for your speedy delivery and the discreet packaging.
On opening this candle the scent is absolutely divine. It is a really sexy, musky, vanillary, sweet scent.
Although this candle is quite expensive it is really worth the price. The tin is a good size (holding 192 grams) and I must have used this about a dozen times and it still has about half of the wax left.
When you light this candle - wait about 5 to 10 mins to let the wax melt out to the edges - but whilst you are waiting for the oil you can enjoy the relaxing aroma in the room which will make you feel really in the mood for a massage - or anything else that takes your fancy!
The candle comes with a small plastic spoon to scoop out the oil when it has melted, which is a great idea. But if you want to just pour the oil onto your partner’s body you can do this too.
The oil itself is really thick and a little goes a long way - it leaves your skin feeling really soft and smooth - you could also use it as a body moisturiser if you are feeling a bit flamboyant.
Overall this a really lovely candle - well worth the price and very luxurious.
- Great scent, fantastic texture - and a little oil goes a long way.
- Bottom line
- Really luxurious massage candle - buy now!

Expensive but oh so worth it

This was my first massage candle and I am so glad I bought it. Whilst I knew my body and joints respond very well to heat, and it can make me feel far more relaxed and help ease pain, I was a little concerned about what was as far as I was concerned 'HOT WAX' being dripped on me. Was this a bondage candle in disguise? Would I actually get burns and scars if it was applied wrong? Were the people that said they enjoyed it actually just unaware of how much they enjoyed pain? I like pain in the right environment but not for a relaxing massage! (Silly, I know, but it crossed my mind.) This candle allayed all my fears.
I'm in a long-distance relationship so the time I get to spend with my boyfriend always seems very special to me and I like to treat him. He particularly likes to be massaged so we invested in various items - including this. Because of this I didn't wait for this candle to heat up enough to create a good pool of oil for me to begin the massage, but just lit it at the beginning and used an Earthly Body massage oil until the candle had been going a while. I didn't time this I'm afraid, but I know I was well into the massage so I imagine it took at least fifteen minutes. It's worth keeping that in mind if you want to start with the massage with oil from this candle. Light it and then find something else to do - a few rounds of a sex game, perhaps.
This candle comes with a little plastic spoon that you can use to pour the wax over your partner and keep it under control. For a greater quantity I imagine you could pick up the candle - if it'd melted a lot, though, that might be quite messy - it really is a free flowing oil. When I started using the candle my hands and partner's back were already covered in oil, so I don't know how this feels on bare skin. However, the appreciative moan of delight I heard certainly confirmed the approval of the candle I had been expecting. It really isn't hot on the skin, it's pleasantly warm - and certainly much cooler than the Amazing Hot Heart Massagers Lovehoney also sells can be.
The candle produces an oil that really softens the skin. As I worked it into my boyfriend I could feel both his skin and my hands becoming more moisturised as well as really enjoying the relaxing heat. Areas we had thought were already softened from earlier massage seemed to destress further. The oil goes slightly into the skin when first applied but then a nice amount is left on the surface for you to massage rather than just quickly disappearing. This ensures your expensive candle won't be used too quickly (unless, like us, you can't get enough of the hot oil and want multiple reapplications - even so, the actual amount we used seemed very moderate and I think this candle could last us six months at least.) As you massage the oil does go into the skin and make it more soft and supple, as well as smell heavenly!
The scent of this candle is 'Skinny Dip,' which is a soft, slightly flowery smell that is absolutely gorgeous on the nose. I don't know whether it was just from the activity or from the smell, but I found myself being really drawn to it and finding my boyfriend exceptionally, exceptionally attractive (massage oil goggles? It's a new one on me too) and made me really want to sleep with him.
I used a cloth to gently remove any excess oil from his back when I had finished his massage and my boyfriend was left with the most touchable skin. He felt fantastic! I was jealous, but luckily he gave me a massage not long after. I can report that the oil is definitely not too hot and by the end of my (interrupted by lust) massage I felt amazing!
- The warmth of the candle was very relaxing.
- Takes a while to heat up.
- Bottom line
- Wonderful product!

Does what it says on the tin
Reviewed: March 13, 2010 by Rowan, a Straight Married Female
The first thing I did upon receiving this item was to take the lid off and smell it. It smells amazing! Delicious, even. I rather enjoy using things like incense to relax, so was curious about this. The tin is lovely. There is no difficulty removing the lid, as one sometimes finds, and printed on the label on the bottom of the tin, following a remarkably short list of ingredients, it says in large letters "Cruelty and drug free". Any well-presented product that makes me laugh as that did, has piqued my interest immediately. The candle is 6.8oz (or in metric, 192g).
I was going to recommend not wasting this as a moisturiser, until I woke up the next morning. My skin is naturally soft, but wow! It leaves your skin beautifully smooth and solved the problem of the dry skin on the back of my knees almost completely. Still, I'd suggest making the most of it as a massage oil first and foremost.
My better half made me a little more sensitive first, with mild flogging, and proceeded to give me a full-body massage using this stuff. Dribbled straight from the tin it was lovely and warm – very relaxing, yet not unpleasantly hot and burning, as some candles are. The scent is great, a strong-yet-subtle one. They have managed to find a middle ground balance between 'overpoweringly aromatic' and 'disappointingly devoid of smell'. It's quite vanilla-like, but it's delicately balanced.
Melted, the consistency is smooth and easy to pour or dribble. It stays this way for quite a while, certainly long enough for any purpose I can think of at the minute. And it works well on every part of the body; it's soothing and pleasing. Usually I would be put off by a high price tag, but in this case I actually think that it is worth spending the money. Afterward I felt more relaxed than I had for weeks, despite approaching deadlines. If you enjoy heat-play or are just after a little something extra, this adds both with a little hint of luxury and without as much mess as some wax can create.
There are four main flaws to this item.
1. The packaging does not indicate whether or not it may be used on intimate areas.
2. It dries into an E45-like consistency, so be careful not to overuse it, unless you are planning a shower and towelling afterward; overuse is very easy due to its luxurious and relaxing nature. It is very easy, however, to continue the entertainment in the shower!
3. The price may put people off.
4. There is not enough of it and I cannot afford yet to try all the other varieties!
- The scent, the feel. Relaxation. Heat without any pain at all.
- The necessity of showering afterward. The temptation to buy more.
- Bottom line
- Amazing, luxurious. A gorgeous smell. Very romantic. Slightly greasy if overused.
