    1. 30 Days of fun

Reviewed: August 28, 2014 by Puddleduck, a Straight Married Female

Ever had one of those weeks, months or years when your libido drops and no end trying or new toys brings it back up? Well I have had six weeks of that this hasn’t been helped by my children being off for summer holiday and my husband working or me stressing over exam results. Then this little godsend made its way on to the sex toy testers list and our little angel Lovehoney Cazz sent this to revive my sex life.

WARNING: MY REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS.

The calendar comes packaged in a clear plastic bag. I am not overly fussed about the packaging and due to the simplicity of the packaging I could dispose of it easily. However, if I was gifting the item I would have liked a little more than I the clear plastic bag. As with all Lovehoney deliveries, this was quick and discreet packaged in a plain brown envelope.

The calendar itself is lovely it is classy and erotic without being pornographic. This really was important to me. The calendar is better quality than your average 99p Christmas advent calendar, it’s solid like a hard back book.

When you open the calendar you are presented with 30 very tasteful erotic doors begging to be opened. Like any child and its advent calendar I was desperate to open all 30 on day 1 but I held strong and only opened the first.

So excited to open the doors and revive my sex life, I didn’t think that the doors might have tasks behind them I couldn’t do. So on day one I opened the door with a picture of someone showering on, I was hoping for something I could do before my husband left for work. I don’t know why I was expecting to open the door and see something not related to showering inside. But some thing in my head didn’t connect the pictures with anything other than pretty pictures on the doors of the calendar.

Day 1 was to shower with my partner, wash them and surprise them with a waterproof toy. This is where I found issues with the calendar. One I have no shower and if my husband was to have opened the door and tried to surprise me I would probably have a ruined toy he doesn’t know which are waterproof. I know it’s not the calendar's fault I don’t have a shower but once I looked at the other doors I was made aware not all of them would be manageable for us.

Day 2 was a romantic door and far more manageable for us as a couple. However, I am not a fan of oral I will happily give to my husband, but receiving is not something I enjoy. This made the 69 position of challenge far less enjoyable for me. This then made me think of the limits couples set within a relationship and how they would overcome these when they are presented with them in the calendar.

Due to the mass production element of the calendar I don’t want to go into massive detail and spoil the surprise element for those considering buying this.

I found that if I am going to follow through with my 30 day challenge I was going to have to change some of the things up EG: bath not shower. The doors can be closed again like an advent calendar, but like an advent calendar it isn’t the same once you’ve opened it.

The calendar has an “how to play” on the back suggesting you and your partner take it in turns to open the doors or assign weeks. As I have mentioned, this is an okay suggestion if the right partner opens the right door.

Day 4 suggests you lead your partner to the car and drive out to the middle of nowhere and have sex. This would work if you drive so in our case my partner would have needed to open this as I don’t drive. I found that having children made some of the challenges difficult as we can’t simply be that spontaneous, as any parent knows it takes so much planning just to get through the day, making day 4’s challenge simply impossible to complete straight away.

By the time I had opened 5 doors I found 2 had complications I had to work around, 1 was not going to happen and 1 day is something me and my husband do regularly so didn’t seem to add much to our sex life. I am writing this review after opening 5 week doors simply as I don’t want to put to many spoilers in my review and ruin the fun for anyone considering purchasing this.

As I mentioned earlier in my review, door 1’s picture linked with the challenge even though this is the case it isn’t always clear. As I began to open more doors I realised it didn’t matter who opened the door because we didn’t know what it said inside. Day 3 had a picture of a woman stood behind a screen but could have been a good door for either of us to open. The challenge was to have sex in the pantry, I have a pantry but I don’t store food in it which was also part of the challenge.

Like most children I was excited to open the doors and wanted a little more mystery to the doors. I liked the pictures on the doors don’t get me wrong but some of the mystery was taken out by have the pictures.

Overall, I really think this is a well presented item that anyone can enjoy from vanilla couples to those like me who just need to kick start their sex life. £7 is a small price to pay for a month of fun and even when you come up against little problems they are not so bad you can’t find an alternative.

      Pros
It was well presented, erotic but not pornographic, exciting and inexpensive.
      Cons
Some of the excitement was taken out of it by the photos on the door.
      Bottom line
Great item even though I found faults with it. Lovely item.
