    • Did you know Lovehoney has a 3D printer that we use to develop our own brand sex toys? "There's a big difference between seeing sketches of a clitoral vibrator and holding one in your hand. With our 3D printer, we don't have to create lots and lots of prototypes - we can just use the 3D printer to check sizes and angles and when we're happy and have the most ergonomic shape we can ask for a real working model." • Is this innovation always a good thing or does simplicity still have its benefits? A recent article at vice.com takes a look at sex toy development from some of our favorite manufacturers including Lelo and Aneros, finding that we could be moving away from complex user interfaces to those that are simple and user friendly. Proving that sometimes innovating can mean simplifying. "In fact, too much innovation can sometimes be a problem, too; no one wants to use a toy that requires a master's degree to operate, no matter how high-quality it is." [The Shape of Sex Toys to Come]
    • Jay Leno should be the host for this post. He was eager to show off the Sqweel when it first came on the scene, and it turns out he's also a 3D printer power user. I wonder if he's got any sex toy designs in the works? What else is in store for the future of 3D printing? This infographic provides a look at the future of this growing technology. • 3D printing sex toys could mean the ability to create these intimate objects discreetly in the privacy of your own home. But even if you print out your dream dildo, it won't be body safe straight off the press. To created a body safe version of your printed toy you will need a mould and some silicone. Try the Cloneboy Personal Dildo Mould to create a smooth silicone replica from yourself, or your 3D printed masterpiece.

I have the clone kit and I have to say the detail of my finished vibrator is incredible. I'd love to see what a 3D printer can accomplish!

3D technology is awesome. I can't imagine how it would be if you can make a sex toy out of it. I think I would learn to draw and press my brain for wonderful ideas to come up with in my own home.

Oh the geeky sex toy possibilities that there are with 3d printing!.. :D
    • Mew: September 14, 2013 21:25
3D printing is already being used often for sex toys. I know of a few places that make specialty toys, that use 3D printers as part of the production process. They've been doing it for a few years now.

3D printing sounds pretty intriguing, but I wonder when it will be compatible with body-safe materials...
    • Sugar Doll: September 15, 2013 05:03
3D printing does sound like it could become the next big thang, and with the world of technology pretty much moving at the speed of light, I wouldnt doubt it.
    • K.C.: September 15, 2013 09:49
The printing sounds pretty awesome, but I'm also a little concerned about body-safety.

The 3D printing has only just begun though - In 5 or 10 years, the potential may be unlimited.

We would love playing with that, unfortunately 3d printing is still a little early in its life cycle for my tastes wait for the body safe materials

      Hahaha, "Freaky Freud!"

    • Sand: September 26, 2013 02:20
I've heard great things about this toy.
    • cliticaljenne: September 26, 2013 02:43
Call me strange but I often find that simple is often best when it comes to sex toys. I think sometimes we can over complicate things in the name of innovation. Kiss is a simple concept but it works as well with any design.
    • Lou22: September 26, 2013 21:24
Would love to try the Sqweel, can't believe I've not tried it yet.
      Can't imagine where i'd start with a 3D printer!
    • SophieM: September 27, 2013 17:40
Even with the mixed opinions I've heard about this toy, I am so intrigued about it!
And 3D printers are awesome! They fascinate me SO much.
