    8 Ways to Declutter Your Sex Life

    With spring on the way, renewing your energy with its longer days and warmer weather, it may have got you thinking about your health, fitness, career and relationship goals.

    A fresh chance to review, reflect or just re-organise your priorities for the time being.

    One of the things that’s easy to neglect over the busyness of the year is your sex life – especially with a return to studying and assessments.

    But that doesn't need to be the case. Here are a few ways to declutter your sex life.



    1. If you like it, keep it

    Much like those times when you sort out your stuff, if there's something in your sex life that you get immense joy out of, keep it.

    So what if it's old and familiar?

    Think of it as a little black dress; it does the job and you can always accessorise it for special occasions.

    2. If you don't like it, ditch it

    It may seem obvious but some habits die hard. Sometimes we get into a routine and it gives us no pleasure.

    If you are there, stop now. Don't do what you do not want to do.

    Change it up, give it a makeover, or just distract yourself with something else.

    3. Be body safe

    You've heard about toxic friends, right? But have you heard about toxic toys?

    I'm talking phthalates, skin-safe rubber, proper storage and cleaning.

    4. Upgrade your lubes and condoms

    Student life does sometimes hand you freebies; mostly condoms, pens and pizza. And who doesn't love a freebie?

    However, just because something is free doesn't mean it's good quality.

    If you are having regular sex and/or sex with someone you really like (aww) investing in some great-quality lube and condoms can make for an extra-special experience.

    5. Let's talk about sex

    Occasionally we have a question or worry so big that it's hard to bear on our own. And you may be relieved to know that we are not alone!

    If you've thought about it, it's likely someone else has, too.

    If you have some trustworthy friends, have a chat with them. Or join a forum.

    But remember that if your concern is related to your health or wellbeing, it's vital you reach out to a sexual health clinic or a charity that can help.

    6. Learn something new

    Remember how great it felt when you last learnt some DIY to fix something? Or, at least temporarily fixed something using tape?

    Or maybe that time you realised that pesto can cover the taste of all your cooking disasters?

    Regardless, learning something new is fun. Is there something, sexually, you've wanted to try but aren't sure how or where to start?

    Now is the time to research it.

    It doesn't mean that you have to go through with it – just file it away in the helpful to know section of your brain.

    Also, it looks really hot, and impressive, when you drop some sex knowledge on potential partners.

    7. Review

    OK, so you've tried a new toy or taken your first foray into BDSM.

    It's perfectly acceptable to bask in the glow of your experience – but it's also a good time to reflect.
