5 Tips That'll Boost Your Kissing Know-How
on Apr 12, 2019
Ah, kissing. Lip locking. Sharing smackeroos.
Did you know that there's an International Kissing Day every day? Practice makes perfect, so let your beau know and pucker up. Whether you’re laying some sugar on them or stealing a peck before one of you catches the train, kissing is a great way to get your blood pumping.
To help you get in the mood, we’ve scoped out 5 top tips to help get you on top of your smooch game.
1. Soft lips and breath mints go a long way
If you're in a long term relationship, chances are you've woken up and kissed your partner in bed before. Maybe those sweet morning smacks are some of your favourites.
If you're worried about morning breath, keep a tin of mints by your bedside – or why not kiss your way down south along with the addition of some peppermint lube?
2. Kiss for the sake of kissing
You know how frustrating it is when you're trying to talk to someone and they're typing instead of listening to you? Now imagine getting kissed by someone who's that distracted. Not good.
Don't let kissing be a bump in the road on the way to sex: kiss for longer, and really take your time to enjoy the closeness with your partner. Being in the moment and focusing on kisses themselves is a great way to improve your experience.
Pace yourself, though – if it's a hard and fast kind of day, ride that passion, but if you're feeling relaxed, take it slow and savour.
3. Use more than just your lips
Add your fingers into the mix. Slide them up through your playmate's hair, and gently down their neck for a big boost to your enjoyment.
While we're at it, why not kiss places other than the lips? Ear lobes, cheeks, necks and knuckles are all excellent options.
4. Keep the tongue in reserve
Maybe you love tongue in your kissing. A good snogging is definitely a good time! But there aren't many who would welcome a big thick slurp without so much as a how-do-you-do.
What this really means is to respond to the moment. Start out with a little bit of tongue and work up to more if you and your OH are both into it, and don't forget to keep your tongue moving with or against theirs.
5. Listen to and engage with your partner
We've saved this tip for last, but it's probably the most important.
Sometimes, you're not up for tonsil hockey, and that's okay. Your partner's body language will let you know what kind of kiss they're up for, and listening to that will make you an immensely more pleasurable person to peck.
