Desire Prostate Review

Alex reviews the Desire Luxury App-Controlled Rechargeable Prostate Vibrator

Look and feel

I have to admit when compared to the other vibrating prostate massager I have, (the Nexus Revo 2) this seemed rather underwhelming at first glance. It looked not only smaller but it seemed impossible that this would be anywhere near as powerful as the Nexus.

However, let me assure you, in this case, looks are most definitely deceiving. The shape has clearly been very well designed. It's really easy to insert as well as remove, and the 2 motors are not only very powerful, but really take this toy to the next level.

I thought the pouch was a really nice addition to the product. It would be great for travelling and it is also very discreet, if you have kids in the house and want to hide your sex toys.

Accessibility

Living with chronic pain and having severe restrictions to my mobility, I had high hopes for this toy due to the addition of companion app. One of the toughest things about using the Nexus Revo 2 for solo play is changing the settings while in use. When you have limited mobility (especially when coupled with chronic pain), bending and twisting can not only increase pain, but also interrupt your mood and affect your ability to maintain an erection.

In my personal experience, prostate massagers not only aid in achieving and keeping an erection, but also help you to climax (something that can also be difficult). The only downside to most prostate massagers is the button placement, as it requires a fair bit of mobility to adjust the settings.

The app really does solve this problem, while giving you much more control over your pleasure and the moment of climax. Head space is so important when it comes to sexual pleasure when living with chronic pain, as it affects the ability to stay erect and being able to orgasm.

Probably the best feature of this toy is the fact that after insertion you can get comfortable and enjoy the experience. Pain can still get in the way for me to an extent, however, being able to adjust the patterns and intensity really does help combat the issues that can arise from living with pain.

One of the biggest turn-ons with this toy was having my wife take control of the app. There were some small issues for us personally, the main one being that she wasn't able to play with herself: she needed to use both hands to hold and operate the phone due to her arthritis. An update to the app could easily fix something like that, so it is not a big issue.

One thing I found is we talked a lot more as she couldn't get a feeling of what I was experiencing, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

I will admit this toy has already earned my admiration. It helped me feel more connected with my wife than I have felt in a long time and I know she felt the same way. Pain has a way of getting in the way (in the long-term as well as the short), but this felt like it did when we first met. For example, one day you think, "I am too sore to have sex tonight" or "I am too sore to get a cuddle..." and unfortunately, before you realise it, months have passed.

Using an app-based toy meant we could both get comfortable and still feel connected and involved; we really did appreciate that about it.

Summary

So far, I have tried 4 prostate toys in total (2 that vibrate and 2 that don't), and I can honestly say this is the most effective and enjoyable one I have experienced so far.

I really cannot praise the product and accompanying app any higher. I have shared a few suggestions for improvements with the Lovehoney team, but in all honesty, they would only enhance an already incredible toy.

A married couple from Scotland, Alex and Louise met on a night out in Edinburgh 11 years ago. Although the relationship has changed a lot over the years, they are just as much in love today as they were back then. Unfortunately a car accident six years ago has left them both in chronic pain.

However, they live their lives determined not to let pain get in the way of love, passion and intimacy. They hope by talking about the issues they face and how they might overcome them, it might help others in a similar situation.
