If you have a clitoris, then chances are you'll have been flicking your on/off switch ever since you discovered its magical powers.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, right? Wrong.

Deeper orgasms - the ones you can experience through stimulation of your internal erogenous zones - unfold more slowly, building to an overwhelming and intense peak, and last much longer. Some women even experience multiple orgasms as a result.

Using a sex toy to explore these hidden hot spots can help you find new ways to pleasure yourself, as well as different techniques and angles to try during sex.

From beautiful glass wands to lifelike schlongs of all shapes and sizes, we've got the dildo to help you find your ultimate inner orgasm.

Start at the shallow end

When you're choosing a dildo to help you find your internal erogenous zones, you don't need to go for the longest dong you can get your hands on.

Deep penetration can feel amazing (we'll get to that soon), but if you're looking for G-spot stimulation, you'll only need to go about 2-3 inches into your vagina.

Go for something on the small side – easy to hold, and firm with a curved tip.

If you've already got a 7-incher stashed away, then you can still use it – just use the extra length to get a good grip, and insert just the first few inches.

Don't skip the warm-up

Rubbin’ the nubbin’ isn't just fun - it's practical too. If you want to experience an internal orgasm, clitoral arousal can help you get there.

Just above your G-spot is the urethral sponge, which contains the Skene’s gland. As you become aroused, this gland swells and fills with fluid, which causes the G-spot to become more sensitive and protrude - so there's more chance of finding this elusive sweet spot if you're turned on.

Even better? Bring yourself to a clitoral orgasm before you embark on your G-spot journey.

Location, location, location

Before you experiment with your dildo, it might help to locate your G-spot so you know what you're aiming for.

Slide your palm down your stomach, and insert a lube-covered finger or two into your vagina, curling them backwards in a 'come-hither' motion once they are a couple of inches deep inside you.

The location of this nub of nerve endings can vary from person to person, but you should now be able to feel a fleshy, ridged area that feels different to the rest of the vagina.

Don't sweat the technique

To maximise the amount of stimulation your G-spot is getting, you'll need to experiment with angles, types of motion and levels of pressure.

Try shallow, rhythmic thrusts, or massage your G-spot by inserting your dildo, then dragging the tip across your G-spot as you pull it out (this works best with a slightly curved dildo) and pressing it against the front wall of your vagina as you slide it back inside.

Rigid toys made from glass and steel are best for this kind of movement, as they keep the pressure consistent. A suction cup means you can anchor your toy to a flat surface and get into the right position to hit those hot spots.

With the right stimulation, you might feel an urge to pee, as the bladder is just on the other side of the vaginal wall. Persevere with whatever you're doing, though, and you may experience an intense internal orgasm.

A is for "aaaaahhhhh don't stop!"

So you've heard of the G-spot orgasm, but there's another elusive erogenous zone with lots of orgasmic potential. Just a few inches deeper than the G-spot, between the front vaginal wall and the cervix, is the Anterior Fornix, or A-spot.

A sweet spot well worth swatting up on if you're into internal stimulation, it can unlock incredibly pleasurable, intense sensations when stimulated directly.

If you want to go this deep, you'll need a slim dildo with a gently curved tip, so it slides past the cervix without bumping it (which some people find uncomfortable).

Experiment with lots of lube and different levels of pressure and rhythm to see what works best.

Double dare

Many people love the 'full up' sensation of double penentration, with some lucky folk even experiencing a blended anal and G-spot/A-spot orgasms.

A dildo can help you light up more than one erogenous zone at once, and achieve intense, lip-biting sensations.

Try a slim anal probe paired with a penis, a butt plug paired with your favourite dildo, 2 dildos or a dildo and your (or someone else's) fingers.

Whatever you're inserting anally, make sure it has a flared base or finger loop for safety, and always use plenty of anal lube before you play.

And finally...

Yep, we talk about it all the time, but it bears repeating. Lube is essential when you're playing with sex toys, especially if you're inserting them anally. Remember to check that your lube is compatible with your toy (if you're not sure take a look at our guide).

And another thing: don't feel disheartened if you don't orgasm from this kind of stimulation first time. Sometimes patience and practice are all you need, but even if you never get there, there are plenty of other ways to pop your cookies. Everybody is different.

The most important thing is to have fun and to find out what feels good. And if you have an orgasm or two along the way, that's a bonus!
