Who decided on the sizing? Barbie?

When I saw that Lovehoney had added a range of DC Comics underwear to their collection, I couldn't have been more pleased. It seemed like perfect timing. My other half's birthday was coming up and as he's a huge fan of DC, I knew this would be the perfect choice to wear for the occasion.
The packaging isn't very interesting. The bra comes in a simple plastic packet with a tag attached. It does come on a hanger though, which was a nice touch. If this is being purchased for someone other than yourself, it may be better presented in one of Lovehoney's lingerie bags.
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this in terms of quality. DC might be good at comics and movies, but lingerie, and bras in particular, are a whole different ball game. I have to say that I was pretty impressed with what I received.
It was well-made for the most part, but there were a couple of loose threads around the edges of the bra. I could easily remove them with scissors so I wasn't particularly bothered by this. The rest of the bra seemed to be in great condition and the soft satin that was used felt divine.
Fit wise, I ordered the small and I wear a size four, 30A. I usually find bras sized on clothing rather than back and cup sizes just about accommodate my band, but this one seems like it was made with my size in mind. I could get away with wearing it on the loosest hook and eye fastening, which is pretty much unheard of with bedroom bras in my experience. I cannot see it fitting anyone with a larger band than me at all, but I think it would be fine for those who wear a 28.
If you wear a 32 and would usually pick a small, I'd strongly recommend going up to the medium as it might be too tight to fasten in the small. It does seem to air on the smaller band sizing spectrum, so definitely keep that in mind before purchasing. I feel that it might be like this with all sizes, in that each only fits one band size comfortably, with the three hook and eye settings just adjusting how tight the wearer likes it to be, rather than accommodating further sizes. If in doubt, size up!
What confused me about this bra was the cups. These seem to have been made with larger sizes in mind. I feel like fantasy and reality have been confused in the process of designing this bra as the sizing seems a bit unrealistic. It almost feels like it was made with implants in mind, rather than natural busts. I can make it work for me as the lower part of the cups have padding, but I can still feel some space remaining that I can't fill out with my not-so-perfectly-rounded breasts.
I read in the product description that this could be worn as a bandeau, which was exciting as I like multipurpose pieces, but I just can't wear it like that. I feel as though the cups begin to gape and reveal the space leftover if the straps are removed. When the straps are in place (and fully adjusted), the fit is better. I feel that cross-over strapping and caged styles are very flattering on the shape and size of my bust and this bra was no exception. It removed most of the gaping I mentioned earlier.
Overall, it might sound like I hated this bra, but I wouldn't go that far. I am quite disappointed though. The knickers from this range are fantastic, but the sizing of the bras seems to be off.
It's like it's been made with the stereotypical 'perfect' image of women (small band/waist with big, round breasts) in mind rather than actual bodies. It could have been so good if this had been changed and I probably would have worn it more, but as it is now, I'm only going to be wearing it for superhero roleplay and hoping he doesn't ask me to wear it regularly.
- Design and colour, superhero theme, apex strapping over the cups.
- The sizing is somewhat unrealistic.
- Bottom line
- Would have been fantastic with better sizing.
