I have wanted one of these for ages and my wonderful partner bought me one for Christmas.
The first thing which struck me was just how tiny it is, the second was how heavy. So I was a little it anxious that the weight and size would have it popping out in no time at all. How wrong I was. It is the most beautifully balanced toy ever. There was no slippage with it at all, even after several hours play with it.
Unlike some butt plugs, it wasn't uncomfortable at all. I was constantly aware of it when I walked or sat but never in an uncomfortable way. It was great and I can't wait to play with it again. I haven't yet tried having sex with my partner while wearing it, but I'm really looking forward to giving that a go. If you, like me, have dithered over buying one of these, dither no more... it's just sheer perfection.
- I loved everything, and yes, I love that it makes my bottom sparkle!
- Not a thing.
- Bottom line
- Bliss, the perfect butt plug.

I’ve wanted a princess plug for years. It’s like a fixation. Originally I was eyeing up the large version, which I like better aesthetically because the crystal covers the entire flat end of the plug, but decided to be sensible and not let my all-consuming desire for an adorable but thole turn me into an accidental size queen, so I chose this one.
My plug came in a tiny little velvet bag with a gold rosebuds logo on it. The plug itself is TEENY. Actually get out a tape measure before you buy this, because it really is little. I know this is the ‘small’ version (from what I can gather, Rosebud plugs come in four sizes - small, large, XL and XXL, the last two not stocked by Lovehoney), but this is truly pocket size. It’s shorter than a lip balm tube, has a reassuring weight to it, and while being smaller than I thought it was, it’s my favourite shape for a plug to be, with an almost lollipop-like bulb, a tapered tip, a long skinny neck and a flared base. I’ve never actually lost something up my butt, but I’ve read enough cautionary tales and had enough gruesome stories told to me by a friend who’s training to be a nurse to be extra super cautious. I pretty much view butt holes as distant, organic relatives of vacuum cleaners at this point.
The gem (crystal?) on my plug is unfortunately one that Lovehoney don't sell, but if you imagine the crystal colour with the round shape of the blue and red gems, you've got a pretty good match. It's absolutely beautiful - I’m officially infatuated with something that lives in my butt. You can tell that this is a high quality toy, and it really shows. I think it makes my bum look more peachy somehow, too, which is a nice plus.
I did have a bit of a mishap with this plug... when it arrived. I was so excited to use it that I temporarily forgot that steel is generally pretty cold, especially when you combine it with silicone lube from a bottle that’s been sitting on your windowsill all night. This led to the butt equivalent of brain freeze. I can tell you first hand that that’s a thing now. Do not go by my example, and remember to warm it up a little beforehand - you can warm this or any other steel toy up by running warm water over it or alternately, clenching it between your thighs for twenty minutes or so if you’re especially concious of your water bill. Also - steel retains temperature better than glass does, so if you're into temperature play, you're in luck with this plug, even though I haven't tried doing that with this yet.
The good news is that this little plug fits me like it was made especially for my body, and it’s easy to insert and easy to remove. The tapered tip does look a bit pointy but it doesn’t feel that way at all, and I think it’s just the right size for the material it’s made of. Like a good set of Kegel balls, I can feel it in there but not to the point where it feels off and I want to remove it.
The Rosebud plug gets major points from me for actually staying put, too. I know it’s a fairly common sex tip (‘remove a plug or a string of anal beads at the moment of orgasm for heightened sensations!’) but I can’t get into that. I like my plugs to stay where I put them until I want them to remove them myself, intentionally, thank you.
The one thing I don’t like using this plug for is keeping it in during penetrative sex as it’s too firm for it. Penetration with fingers feels ridiculously good with this in. It’s definitely a phallic thing - silicone or otherwise. My male partner said it felt like I ‘had a frozen grape sitting up there’ and I got this feeling that I was being uncomfortably compressed and took it out eventually. This will depend on your anatomy and personal preference though. I'm sure for some people that feels amazing.
Using it with glass toys is a no-go for me, too. I tried it with an otherwise lovely glass dildo, but the rigid, bulbous head of the dildo banging against the plug wasn’t something I’d ever want to repeat.
So. I'm officially obsessed with this plug. I recently bought the large one, after it went into the sale and after this one made me even more curious. I haven't tried it yet but I have an inkling that I'll enjoy it if it's anything like this one...
- It's beautiful, a great shape, good size, high quality.
- Bottom line
- A high quality gift for your favourite magpie.

Surprise for my girl and we are both completely smitten, her with how it feels and me with how it looks.
Beautifully made with a real quality feel to it, the polished finish is near flawless. VERY manageable size even for beginners. So, if you are 50/50 because you are intimidated by size, don't be - go for it!
Only downside is the packaging. It's a very cheap pouch and bubble wrap but this is a distant memory now!
- Bottom line
- Beautiful, sexy, adorable.
