    1. Brilliant Bedside Book

Reviewed: March 9, 2015 by Lupina

I went on a 'Dirty book spree' a little while ago and one of my naughty purchases was this book and it has probably been my favourite of the lot!

I'm not usually one for short stories as I like a book where I can get to know the characters, but the thought of naughty fairy tales drew me in! I will admit I was expecting erotic versions of well known fairy tales, but these are actually made up by the authors which at first I was disappointed with, but once I started reading I really enjoyed them!

They are well written and aren't just the same prince banging a princess in the tower kind of story. They are deep and really beautiful and the erotic moments within the stories can feel so romantic and tender or dark and almost chilling. These authors are incredibly talented and I will be looking for other work by them.

The story that was at the bottom of my ranking was actually the first one! So I would definitely recommend reading at least the first two or three as I found the first one a little boring as beautifully written as it was. The story itself was very vague and when you thought all would be revealed at the end, it wasn't. But that was the only one I didn't get along with!

Absolutely worth getting for your bedside table to have something short to read before bed that's passionate and dirty and is finished within 10 pages usually! So you don't end up finding yourself still up at 3 in the morning telling yourself, "Just one more chapter..."

      10 out of 10 stars
      Pros
Very well written, more than just naughty stories.
      Cons
The first story didn't grip me. Definitely read at least the first two!
      Bottom line
Definitely worth buying. I will be looking for more by these authors.

    1. Great for fairy tale lovers

I purchased this as Book of the Month, and I love it. I have spent many nights reading these short stories to my fiancé, trying to figure out which fairy tales they where based on.

They where all very arousing and made a fun bedtime story for us both. A must-have!

    1. Once Upon a Kink

Reviewed: September 5, 2014 by Scorpius12, a Straight Married Female

When I first saw this book, I hummed and ahhhed for ages on whether or not to buy it, mainly due to the fact that the thought of mixing sex and fairy stories seemed just a little bit odd…

However, I am very happy to report that I have been proved wrong! These are not your normal fairy stories of innocence from your childhood - far from it. In fact, these are more like Grimms' fairy tales with a kinky twist!

I am comparing to the Grimms, as these stories have quite a dark side to them, which I really loved. I was transported to far away places, in which princesses want much more than a handsome prince on a white horse to save them. These strong women know exactly what they want, and are not afraid to get it… These stories were very well written and very absorbing.

From witches and fairies to wolfs, ravens and monsters, this book is full of magic and darkness, myths and curses. A Princess Bound is a collection of 17 short stories with a BDSM theme running through their core. There is something for everyone here, from F/F fantasies to bondage, domination and a little sadism. Each story kept me ‘captivated’ until the next delicious tale.

There is also a section in the back of this book, which details other books in similar genres, which I found very useful.

I highly recommend this book. It is so different to anything I have read before, and full of very hot kinky sex scenes!

Indulge yourself in a world like no other, and let your darkest fantasies come true…

    1. Bound

I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this. I am a big reader and love fantasy so something like this was right up my street. There is a wide variety to the stories, they weren't all the regular fairy tales you would maybe think of, some instead I think loosely based on fairytale principles.

Each story was only a few pages long, so brilliant for those who don't like to read, short attention span, short on spare time etc. Each story is differently themed but many centre on the darker desires of bondage, BDSM, pain etc but they are not at all graphic so hopefully wouldn't scare a tamer person or beginner. The front cover imagery doesn't give it away too much and isn't particularly in your face but subtle so anyone just glancing past wouldn't realise.

All in all for the price it was a decent hour or two reading.

      Variety.
      Cons
      Maybe more or longer stories.

    1. Happily ever after

Reviewed: August 6, 2014 by Peitho, a Straight Going Steady Female

I’m not the fastest reader and tend to only read for pleasure when I’m soaking in the bath, so it’s taken me a little while to read the book and write my review.

I don’t very often read erotica either, I’m generally more of a crime thriller girl. I’ve read the Fifty Shades trilogy, but that’s about it. I can honestly say though, I found this more enjoyable and engaging.

A Princess Bound is a collection of seventeen erotic, BDSM inspired fairy tails. It’s an excellent escapism from real life. You find yourself reconnecting with tales you remember from your childhood in a new adult way. The tales are very different, but the escapism is just the same as it was when you were young.

Whether it’s Rapunzel and her kinky, orgasm inducing hair, or Beauty getting a bit of the Beast she so misses back, they’re excellent re-workings and sequels.

They are certainly not all stories I was familiar with before. A number, in fact, I’m pretty sure are totally original, but they all have an air of fantasy and fairy tale about them. The female leads are generally strong women that enjoy a dominant figure (be it male or female) in the bedroom.

There were just a couple of stories I wasn’t entirely comfortable, with what seemed a tad more coercion than consensual BDSM, but these were certainly the exception to the norm. I guess in any collection of short stories there will be a couple you enjoy less than the rest.

I think my favourite fairy tale was the editor, Kristina Wright’s own story, “The Last Duchess”. I think I engaged with the female lead and was willing her on towards her happy, with a kinky edge, ever after.

Most of the writers featured I was not familiar with, but they include names such as Laila Blake, Kathleen Tudor, Ariel Graham, Cathleen Paulssen, Jane Gilbert and Michael M. Jones. There is a section at the back of the book on each of the authors featured, and another section on recommended reading within various genres of different erotic literature both of which I found useful in deciding which books I’m going to read next.

I think most women, and some men will enjoy this collection, and I love that you can dip in and out of the different stories whenever you have a little time to spare. I would certainly recommend the collection for a little escapism whenever you desire, and it has certainly inspired me for further reading within a similar genre.

    2. Overall Rating

      Pros
Lots of erotic, varied fairy tales to escape into.
      Cons
Just a couple I was less keen on.
      Bottom line
A great collection of childhood stories re-imagined in an adult way.
