The Best US States for Swingers

Curious where the swinging scene is strongest in the U.S.? Whether you’re dipping a toe into consensual non-monogamy or simply wondering where like-minded adults are searching, chatting, and meeting, location can make a big difference.

Swinging is all about consent and mutual pleasure. You need a good community around you for it to feel safe, sexy, and fun. So, we wanted to find out which states offer the strongest signs of an active swinger-friendly scene.

To do that, we analyzed nine ranking factors, including Google search interest for swinging related terms, the number of swingers clubs, swinger-related Reddit activity, bars and hotels per capita, and the percentage of married residents in each state.

To be clear, this study doesn’t measure how many swingers live in each state. What happens behind closed doors is private — as it should be. Instead, our ranking looks at public indicators that may make a state more active, accessible, or appealing for consenting adults interested in the lifestyle.

• Florida is the best U.S. state for swingers, with an overall score of 62.6 out of 100. The Sunshine State has the most swingers clubs in the country, with 148 in total, plus strong search interest and a lively swingers Reddit community.

• Texas and Georgia round out the top three, scoring 58.1 and 52.8, respectively. Texas has the second-highest number of swingers clubs, while Georgia performs well across club availability, search interest, and Reddit activity.

• Nevada is the state with the highest swinger-related search interest. It scored a perfect 100 out of 100 for both “swingers near me” and “swinger clubs,” proving that curiosity is anything but quiet in the Silver State.

• California has the largest swingers Reddit community in our analysis, with 78K weekly visitors and 6.8K weekly contributions. While California ranks sixth overall, its online lifestyle community is the most active by far.

• Delaware had the lowest overall score, at 13.7 out of 100. It has fewer public swinger-friendly signals across clubs, search interest, and Reddit activity.

1. Florida — Overall score: 62.6/100

Florida takes the top spot as the best state for swingers, with 148 swingers clubs, the highest number of any state in our study. It also has one of the most active online communities, with 44K weekly visitors and 2.6K weekly contributions to its swingers Reddit community.

Florida-based adults seem to be actively searching online for ways to explore the swinging scene, too. The state scored 52 out of 100 for the search term “swinger clubs” and 50 out of 100 for “sex clubs”.

2. Texas — Overall score: 58.1/100

Everything’s bigger in Texas — including the swinging scene, apparently. Texas ranks second overall thanks to 93 swingers clubs, the second-highest total in the country. The state also has a major online lifestyle community, tying Florida with 44K weekly Reddit visitors and adding 1.9K weekly contributions.

Texas also performs well for travel-friendly factors, with 17.8 hotels per 100K residents, making it easier for couples and singles to turn a night out into a whole weekend of fun.

3. Georgia — Overall score: 52.8/100

Georgia ranks third overall, with a score of 52.8 out of 100. The state has 34 swingers clubs, the fourth-highest number in our analysis, along with 21K weekly visitors to its swingers Reddit community.

Georgia also shows solid search interest across several lifestyle-related terms, including a score of 52 out of 100 for “sex clubs.” With a strong in-person scene and a noticeable online presence, Georgia earns its spot near the top.

4. Nevada — Overall score: 52.8/100

Nevada comes in just behind Georgia by a razor-thin margin. When it comes to curiosity, though, Nevada is unmatched. The state scored a perfect 100 out of 100 for online searches of “swingers near me” and “swinger clubs,” plus 84 out of 100 for “sex clubs.”

It also has 27 swingers clubs and 21.4 bars per 100K residents, giving adults plenty of places to socialize. With Las Vegas at the heart of its nightlife scene, Nevada is one of the clearest hotspots for those curious about the lifestyle.

5. Tennessee — Overall score: 51.2/100

Tennessee rounds out the top five with a score of 51.2 out of 100. While it has fewer swingers clubs than the states above it, Tennessee makes up for it with strong online activity: 27K weekly Reddit visitors and 2.1K weekly contributions.

The state also scored 52 out of 100 for “swinger clubs” search interest and has nearly 20 hotels per 100K residents, making it a strong option for adults looking for a playful night away.

6. California — Overall score: 50.8/100

California ranks sixth overall, but it leads the country for online swinger community activity. Its swingers Reddit community has 78K weekly visitors and 6.8K weekly contributions, the highest of any state in our analysis.

California also has 41 swingers clubs, the third-highest total nationwide. Its overall score is slightly lower due to more moderate search interest compared with states like Nevada and Florida, but when it comes to online buzz, California is the clear leader.

7. Pennsylvania — Overall score: 49.8/100

Pennsylvania ranks seventh, driven by a strong online community and a respectable number of in-person lifestyle spaces. The state has 13 swingers clubs, 32K weekly Reddit visitors, and 2.5K weekly contributions.

Pennsylvania also scored 50 out of 100 for “sex clubs” search interest, making it one of the more balanced states in the top 10.

8. New York — Overall score: 47.2/100

New York ranks eighth overall, with 30 swingers clubs, the fifth-highest number in the country. It also has 19K weekly Reddit visitors and 1K weekly contributions.

The state’s nightlife infrastructure gives it an added boost, with 16.6 bars per 100K residents. For adults looking for a social scene with plenty of variety, New York remains a major player.

9. Ohio — Overall score: 46.5/100

Ohio lands in ninth place, scoring well across search interest and online community activity. The state has 10 swingers clubs, 20K weekly Reddit visitors, and 1.1K weekly contributions.

Ohio also performed especially well for search interest in “sex clubs,” scoring 56 out of 100, and tied Florida and Tennessee with a 52 out of 100 score for “swinger clubs.”

10. Michigan — Overall score: 43.6/100

Michigan closes out the top 10 with a score of 43.6 out of 100. The state has 9 swingers clubs, 28K weekly Reddit visitors, and 2.1K weekly contributions, putting it among the most active states for online lifestyle conversation.

While Michigan’s search interest was more moderate than some other top states, its Reddit activity helped push it into the top 10.

To determine the best U.S. states for swingers, we analyzed all 50 states across nine ranking factors tied to public indicators of an active swinging lifestyle and the likelihood of finding or connecting with other swingers.

This study does not estimate the number of swingers in each state. Instead, it evaluates measurable public signals, including search interest, club availability, online community activity, and social or travel infrastructure.

Each factor was scored from 0 to 5, with higher scores representing more favorable conditions for swingers. The factors were then weighted based on how strongly they indicated swinger activity or lifestyle accessibility. Final scores were converted to a 0–100 scale, with 100 representing the highest possible score.

Google Trends data was scored on a relative scale, with higher search interest indicating stronger public curiosity or demand. Reddit data was based on the largest relevant state-level swingers community identified for each state. Bars and hotels were included as supporting lifestyle and travel indicators, while percentage married was included as a lower-weight contextual factor because many swinger spaces and events are couple-oriented.
