Position of the Week:
The Wet Reset

Forget dry January, some things should always be wet. This relaxed anal sex position feels sensual, comfortable, and very good when you’re both completely slathered in lube.

How?

Receiver, lie on your side with your body long and relaxed. Giver, lie behind your partner and line your hips and chest up so your bodies fit closely together. Lift the receiving partner’s top leg to help get the angle as you slide a (very lubed up) penis or strap-on inside them.

In this relaxed, lounging position you might stay still for a while, letting the receiver feel the satisfying fullness of anal penetration as they stroke their own penis or clitoris. Otherwise, go for small, controlled hip motions rather than full-body thrusting – to keep the position stable.

Start the year feeling wet and wild

Why?

It’s Spooning Reloaded: this position keeps all the intimacy of side-lying sex – the shared warmth, full-body contact, whispering – and gives it a twist.

Raising the top leg opens the hips, which allows deeper entry and stretches the skin in the genital area, making things feel taut and sensitive to stimulation. Also: it’s efficient. You get intensity without expending loads of energy, making it perfect for sleepy nights, lazy weekends, or “we want sex but also want to stay horizontal” moods.

Make it even easier

As the giver, you can stay mostly still, using slow hip movement rather than sustained thrusting. Shift up or down the bed until you find the right angle for penetration.

No one should be holding a pose – if it feels effortful, add support until it doesn’t. For example, bend the receiving partner’s top knee and let them rest their leg on your hip. Alternatively, place their foot flat on the bed.

Toys can also help reduce the effort of manually masturbating the receiver – try a licking toy like the Lovehoney Licking Rose or a stroker if they have a penis.

Make it even better

All penetrative sex can benefit from a generous helping of lube – but especially anal sex. Protect your delicate rectum from tears or mood-ruining discomfort or by slathering lube all over the anus and whatever’s going inside it.

Extra lube allows for longer sessions and deep angles without irritation. And penetration can feel even deeper and tighter in this position, so lube will make sure entry is smooth and sensual.

For anal sex, some people prefer silicone lube as it’ll last longer without drying up. That said, a high quality water-based option, like Lovehoney Discover, is best if you use toys, as it won’t deteriorate the material.

Make it even kinkier

Take this position into the bath for sensual, slippery fun. The warm water will relax your muscles while supporting your body weight, letting you get wet and wild like horny merpeople.

Add dim lighting or candles for atmosphere before you climb into the tub. And be sure to grab silicone lube as it won’t instantly wash away like water-based lube. Now, enjoy starting the year soaking wet and unapologetic...
